The “Man in Danger” Media Festival features films, documentaries, and discussions.
Together with filmmakers, documentary filmmakers, journalists, and experts from various fields, we strive to identify the threats facing people today and analyze how documentary cinema and the media portray them.
The films and reports presented at the Festival address the complexity of issues arising from coexistence. Through their content and form, they provoke discussion and reflection, challenge stereotypes and black-and-white thinking, and encourage openness toward others. We strive to raise awareness that the world’s multiculturalism and diversity are a living fabric in which nothing is fixed once and for all, but is constantly transforming and changing, creating new interdependencies and contexts. We are committed to seeking genuine understanding and mutual understanding, and to making efforts to overcome prejudice, ignorance, or simple indifference. By getting to know another person—whom we too often and too easily define as “the Other”—we come to know ourselves. Interactions with “the Other” can lead us to reevaluate our own self-image.
The 36th “Man in Danger” Media Festival will take place October 14–18.10.2026, in Łódź.
The Media Festival incudes many forms of storytelling:

We look at trends, at the threats to people and humanity that the media report on, and at how they do so. “Man in Danger” is an examination of how the human condition is changing and how people’s attitudes toward the world’s instability are evolving.

- What is our potential for finding common ground across divides?

About the Festival:
The first edition of the Festival took place in 1990. It is organized by the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź. As part of our collaboration with the Kamera Akcja Festival, we are creating the Łódź Film Festival platform, which brings together lovers of documentary cinema and the art of film.
